It seems like a copy of the BBC series Hotel Babylon which is quite successful here in the UK. Same premise.

Why do shows set in the service industries succeed in the UK but tank over here?

save the fact that "Hotel Babylon" is witty and a comedy-drama, I've not watched "Do Not Disturb" but it looks like typical American SitCom garbage.

I read the book Hotel Babylon and it was great. It would make a great show but they need some really witty writers. Plus if you have ever worked in the service industry then you know people are really wierd and funny but not in a slapstick one liner way.

Going to Church won't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage will make you a BMW.
