This premise sounds very similar to a British chick-lit book from some years ago called something like the Pink Line or Thin Pink Line. Is it based on that book? I didn't see anything like that in the credits for writers.

Really? I have never heard of that book, but I am definitely looking forward to see the movie. This story seems really cute and LiLo plays the part perfectly!
