Alternative to deleted scenes?

I believe Lynch had so much extra material for 'Inland Empire' he added
at least 90m to the European 2 DVD version release. I can't say I
understood what most of it was about (much like the film), but there
was a great deal of Laura Dern's character giving a monologue to the
therapist (police officer? etc) in the dark warehouse. Not sure why
this is a separate title mind - makes it seem as if it is a separate
movie? Worth a watch, especially if you would like to try and decipher
the film itself - is that even possible?

reply

Are you confused? Laura Dern is not in this.

reply

No, she is in it. It's a collection of deleted footage from Inland Empire.

Oogly Boogly!

Oh right. The cast list only mentions three people...

The R2 DVD only has interviews as extras :-(

Anyone know where I can see this stuff? Can't play R1 discs as in UK and R2 just has some pretty basic interviews. Is this on any website?

You said, "especially if you would like to try and decipher
the film itself - is that even possible?"

Yes, Inland Empire is decipherable. It makes complete sense if you follow the story of the crying woman watching TV. All else is fantasy - or day-dreaming, if you like - in HER mind.

I've seen an awful lot of movies and a lot of awful movies...

reply

That doesn't make any sense, but I do agree that it is decipherable.
