Anyone else love this?

I was a HUGE fan of Inland Empire (my third favorite film of all time), and I think this reel is just incredible. I find myself watching it quite often, the scenes work as great pieces on their own. Most of them are just as good as anything in the movie, although I understand why a lot of it didn't fit into the movie (the buying a watch scene probably takes place chronologically before anything in the movie). Still, it's top quality stuff from Lynch, the master. If you are a fan of Inland Empire, do check this out.

yep

It's vintage stuff!

I'm only about 30 minutes into it, and I'm having to take a break. It's too intense! I'm terrified.

Wish me good luck... going back in for more now

It would have been nice for Lynch to include the watch and Phantom scenes from this into Inland Empire. Sure, the movie would have been over three hours then, but still. I think it made the cigarette through the silk thing have a bit more story.

He probably should have just made a six hour movie. The first time I watched Inland Empire, my boyfriend and I viewed the whole movie then the extras right after, making it very intense and long. I did, however, get a better sense of the film in total because of this.

I think this scene is largely symbolic- chronology doesn't matter, except in LG's brain. She is only obsessed with time in a guilt frame- her temptations she succumbs to and transgressions (with Krimp) are compartmentalized and trivialized in her head as "buying a watch."
