Wait, didn't he have a gun?

When those bumbling police officers came aboard the bus and asked for the main character's identification, he smashes through the window and gets into a wrestling match with one of the officers.

They fight over a gun, the officer is shot, main character takes gun and runs into the forest.

At least that's how I remember it. Maybe I blinked a little too much on that scene but I swear to Bob that he took that gun.

Am I wrong?

Im pretty sure he didnt take it.

And thats one thing that annoys me in lots of movies. They never take the guns when they get the chance. I know why of course. Because then the hero would have it too easy in the rest of the movie. So instead they try to make us believe that he would be so stressed out that he wouldnt take that extra 1 second and pick it up. And in the rest of the movie he is really sharp and smart in those stressed out moments, so i dont buy that he wouldnt manage to do it. But no. Dont take the gun that would have saved you a bunch of times :P Fake tension created by the makers :(

That is pretty cheap.
I could've sworn I saw him take that gun. either way, cheap.

Don't swear so easily, he didn't.

The use of knives and guns have a significant role to play within the film and the director does this on purpose. I'm sure you were wondering why everyone had knives and not guns, well it ties in to a traditional Korean understanding that is pretty hard to explain in English! All I would say is look who dies from the knife(not the axe) and look who dies from gunshot.
