Mr Myun's superpowers

I thought the movie wasn't great until Myun started to use his teleportation skills (to get throught the big metallic portal in the scene in which he chases the main character, right before jumping from the boat). He probably uses his supernatural powers again when he fights several guys in a dark room.

Those things, in my opinion, made the film pretty cool, and I find it surprising that nobody has talk about it yet.
Anyone agrees?

At first, I kinda thought this was just bad trolling.

Fact is, I happened to watch Hwanghae for the second time today (the movie is too long by the way)... and there actually is a scene in which Mr. Myun (played by Yun Seok-Kim) goes through a portal as all his followers do have to climb above it.

Also, he pretty much seems to be indesctructible in all the fight scenes (kind of like Bruce Willis in Shyamalan's Unbreakable).

Not sure what to think about all this though.

I assumed that one of Myun's minions, after climbing over the metal gate, opened the guard shack door from inside to let Myun in. But yeah, funny post!

I figured early on that I'd have to suspend disbelief, after seeing Gu-Nam jump from a 5th floor window, crush the roof of the car he landed on, get up limping, yet still be able to shake off two tacklers and outrun a dozen or more pursuers. Once superhuman powers were understood to be a given, it was pretty cool to watch Gu-Nam and Myun absorb all kinds of vicious stab wounds and keep on fighting.

I want a meat bone just like the one Myun uses!

You'll have to eat the meat from it by yourself first !

Or else you can't have pudding.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

Funny funny. Although I admit that Mr. Myun at times seems pretty indestructible, he doesn’t possess superpower.
He simply climbs the gate faster than his helpers because he is stronger and more determined than them. Just as he, a few minuttes later, is the only one to take what for him seems to be the logical path, when Gu-nam (the taxidriver) tries to escape by jumping into the ice cold water.

Mr Myun looked like he was Hulk or something with exceptional weapon skills better than of Bruce Lee. That ruined the movie for me

I loved this movie and feel that Myun was best summed up as a rabid person. He couldn't be stopped unless there was a person like himself that was even more blood thirsty and savage. Yes it seems that he may have had super powers, but it was simply because those that went up against him weren't as strong. In the end he basically died because he had come to the end of his rope. He suffered too much abuse on his body and it gave out, kind of like a dog with rabies.

Yeah, some critics have mentioned 'implausibilities' and even I joked: 'is he Batman?' when I watched it ... think I need to see it twice to truly understand it all.

George Lucas talking about: 'Hey, give it to me, I'll fix it. I'll make 20 more of them'

I liked the gate scene, i actually remember it besides watching that movie only once. It was like 'What are you guys waiting for, climb over the fence!' and then he just walks through the gate. I perceived it as a joke on him and his relationship to his henchman - making them climb for no reason while he is aware of the gate and the possibility of it being unlocked (which it is).
