Why would they end it like that?

It's not smart or witty, doesn't make you think at all.
I seen great movies that end in a way that leaves you thinking what happen next, but it fit the story, this? unless there's some direct sequels? makes no sense and its just annoying.

this was a full on revenge movie, regardless how it ended you need closure.

I was going to say this movie was very good, now? it's just okay...almost wish i did not even bother watching it...
oh well what a waste of a good story and acting talent.

Well, as I see it there are only two options. She went back in to punish him by killing his family, or she went back in to punish him by telling his family about his crimes in person and force them to watch him get arrested. take your pick.

I thought it well shot and had strong acting but the plot was a wreck.

What a lovely way to burn...

That's the 2 scenarios I came up with. She was all about helping the other girls though. Would she really have did anything to his innocent family? Why was she walking away in the first place? Was she trusting him to give up more of his contacts if she let him live? I really liked the movie but the ending could have been better. They always want to do these endings to keep you wondering what happened. I'd rather just see a well written ending that wrapped things up.

reply

Didn't you hear the captor? He said there is a hell of a lot more girls out there. You think just cause the movie ends as she walks away and it just ends like that, it won't have anything else to add? She went back because she still wanted to at least try to finish him off. Made a fool out of him in front of his wife and daughter, and then she walks back to kill him. It showed her pushing the door open just before the daughter closes the front door.

All I can say is they probably want to make a sequel and that is how they did it with the ending of this movie. I love these revenge movies no matter how far off the deep end they are. It shows if we had some women with balls, they would do something to these sick bastards. It also shows in real life, you should not trust anyone even if you think this boy you meet is a great guy and wants to marry you.

Hell, I don't even trust women that I go out with. Even women are sick out there too. Think its just men that do these kinds of things? Women are sick too.

To the person that said she would go back and kill his family in front of him. She is not a mobster. That is what a mobster or gangster would do. LOL! I bet she went back to tell them about what he did or just killed him right in front of them after telling them too. I bet after what she would say, that his wife and daughter would not care if she killed him.

I am a gore watching freak!!!

If it don't have it, it isn't worth the watch.

I liked the ending. She's either going to kill his family as the ultimate act of revenge - how apropos? Each of the kidnappers told her "it was nothing personal" over and over, as though that excused their behavior. Welp, guess what? Killing his wife and daughter would be nothing personal against them specifically either. I feel like she wouldn't go through with it, after getting to know her character, but she might try.

Either that, or she was going back to collect him and keep going after his contacts until she'd saved as many woman as she could before the cops caught up to her. It is perfectly open-ended.

Oh, and sorry about your dating troubles? That's an interesting thing to write. As a woman, once I get to the "dating" stage, I'm cool. Just super careful for the first several dates. Can't live in fear lol.

They're coming to get you, Barbara!

Your writing skills are terrible.
The plot might have been a little above your intelligence level.

reply

WOW! You are a miserable person. Did it ever occur to you that the writer speaks a different language, one which I am sure you do not? Next time you judge someone's intelligence based on their ability to speak English, think about that.

She got him to give her all his contacts/info/addresses of where other girls were. Because he was begging her not to tell his wife/daughter. So I think she either at first was just going to take his info to save the other girls and drop him off (because she felt bad for his family) but then she realized how pissed off she was he killed her sister and had NO COMPASSION..... the quote playing before she walked back to the house was "You won't have to worry about your sister anymore" so we found out it wasn't her best friend, it was family. And she was realized why am I being sensitive towards him and his family when he wasn't to mine or anyone else's? So she changed her mind. OR she tricked him and acted like she was gonna let him go and walk but then I don't see why we would see that flashback and revelation she had about what he said about her sister. I highly doubt she was going to kill his family--- just tell them the truth, call the police. End his life.

reply

I agree she got him to give her all his contacts/info/addresses of where other girls were and then left him bloody raw for his family to scrape off of the stoop.

I disagree about killing the family. I think the movie lays out why she went back. She had already killed a number of people directly and indirectly, she was covered in blood, she had in fact had become a brutal killer. She remembers his words about his sister and her painful horrible death. She remembers Ronnie and him saying, "It wasn't anything personal".

Well on second thought, there is nothing more personal than her sister and so she was going to make him understand personal. She went back to kill his wife and child in front of him. That is as personal as it gets.

reply

I doubt she'd kill his family. That's not even close to justice. They are victims in this. They will be messed up for life from just hearing about what he did for a living.
But then again, the screenwriter and director left things unanswered and confusing, so it's up to each viewer to decide how they expect the story to end. I wouldn't be at all satisfied with her murdering a little girl.
Everyone she killed deserved to die. Everyobe she sadly beared witness to dying was not her fault, and do she never became a monster who would kill people for no good reason.

reply

I don't think she went to kill the family, but to expose Phil for his actions. Eve wanted to save the women he basically hurt and ruined... I think she went back to do the same-- save the wife and little girl, who may end up being two more victims on his list.

reply

The only thing he cared about was his family. So the only way to punish him is to kill his family. He knew the police would find out no matter what so it wasn't about exposing him. The family wouldn't have believed her anyways in that moment, until a trial and evidence comes to light.

The only reason she had going back to the house was to kill them in from of him.

And I doubt his wife was innocent. She must have at least known that he was a monster and she exposed herself and her daughter to that.

reply

I thought the ending was blatantly obvious, when it was revealed that the girl she shared her cell with was her sister. She went back to finish the job herself and kill him.

"Why would they end it like that? "

lack of imagination.

"I was going to say this movie was very good, now? it's just okay...almost wish i did not even bother watching it...
oh well what a waste of a good story and acting talent. "

it wasn't. within the first 30 minutes i came very close to turning it off. it had gotten a bit better, but not by much.

are you kidding? the acting was terrible.

reply

Gawd y'all are dense. Kidnap his daughter. Don't harm her. Just take care of her the way she did for her sister. But he wouldn't know that...she took away the thing most precious to him, he knows what happens to girls. Just...Uhg like killing them would be devastating but THERE ARE FAR WORSE THINGS THAN DEATH AND NOT KNOWING WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS DAUGHTER after all the things he has seen and done and constructed would be horrifying. She didn't kill anyone innocent except the one mindfked Stockholm girl in self defense. She may know the art of pain she used on him, but she wouldn't use it on an innocent. And she wouldn't let another girl be under his...control.

reply

Okay... she kidnaps the daughter and then what? It's not like she's gonna raise the kid herself under an assumed identity or something

reply

It was a stupid ending. She leaves him wounded with his family, starts walking down the street, then turns around and goes back. For what? Who even cares? It was a good twist to have the last house actually be the "very worst of all the houses." And then it turns out to be true...for the kidnapper, that is. The unexplained bullshit of having the main character go back is just an attempt to bring some unjustified ambiguity into the tale to try and ramp up the artsy-fartsy factor.
