Whoever wrote the synopsis below must not have actually watched the movie. The kids were not brainwashed to protect anybody from anything. they were merely reduced to a state of animalistic behavior and escaped when fat cop broke into the house

You're right. I'm watching it now and got confused when all they were showing was the stuff about the cop's life and about his son being kidnapped. I got this synopsis from Blockbuster.com and where I'm also renting all 8 videos from.
