The Mega Man episode had the air of a finale, while I don't think it'll be the end for good I do think it was implying that James wants to put the nerd on the back burner for a while.

I'm disappointed, but at least it was a great episode to go out on for the time being, seeing a 2006, 2007, 2004 period piece felt very surreal and made me feel old.
