The worst war?

I laughed at one of the reviews that protested the use of the adjective "worst", citing that there was no "best" war, so why call it the worst war. Really? So we can't say the "worst" disease, "worst" disaster, "worst" crime/criminal, etc. ??

WWII was the worst war in human history for the simple fact that tens of millions of human beings lost their lives in that war.

But, it definitely wont't be the worst war for ever. Nuclear weapons will be used again, and they will break records. Only then, WWII won't be called the worst war.

Wars are part of human nature, apparently, and they seem to be getting worse as time goes by. We study past wars to get better at the next one. Sad.
