Ask yourself: What is art?

One can argue that any original conception of humanity satisfies the basis of creativity and is therefore, and for that reason alone, art; from the works of Michelangelo to the works of the audience of this very forum.

For as a human being has placed into an original conception an idea of form and grace, of soul and emotion, of science and mathematics; as the human being has carved the work -- be it a post in a forum, or a painting-- based upon pre-conceptions; formed the work, composed the work, invested hours upon hours of time and energy, and finally upon the pedestal of design has appeared a by-product of human ingeniuty and creation. A by-product of social tensions and mental strains, an emotional mold.

Art is merely human creation, for every human creation displays innate emotion and thought. Good art is a matter of taste. And great art is a matter of fact.

Every human is to some extent an artist. The matter we face within this forum consists of reaching a universally agreeable conclusion upon the matter: Are the Jonas Brother's artists in relation to the music they perform?

No. Not the music they perform. But only the music they create. To be an artist does not require performance. The script writer for the God Father wrote the very foundation of the film, but he did not act the parts. Certainly, the vast majority of musicians perform as well; for it is very difficult to compose music without first understanding and embracing it. And the quality of that art is proportional directly to its originality and quality.

And over the course of the years that I have watched pop music infest humanity I have realized one abundantly clear fact: I could excrete more intelligent music out of my anus following a Thanksgiving Dinner. The intelligence required to create pop music is at a bear minimum; it is for that reason alone that it attracts children. For only children are impressionable enough to find this music tolerable.

Permit me to elucidate: If a television series is created wherein the entire plot consists solely of a dozen children tossing feces at one another, children will watch this inhumanity if there friends watch it and if the television set does an adequate job at selling it (considering the consent of the parents obviously).

Pop music is a by-product of capitalism. Pop music requires very minimal THOUGHT and CREATION, it is extremely easy to manufacture, and it has established a foundation based entirely on performance therefore opening a vast array of doors for marketing for a very impressionable audience.
