My (objective) thoughts.

I said "objective" because people on this board mostly are either fans or haters. I'm neither. Also, watching this a couple of years later mean I can express myself without getting crap.

My main problem with them is that thing they do where they sing with a heavy metal-like voice when they're not actually playing heavy metal. They even do that with ballads! As for their songs, they actually have a couple of good ones, specially BURNIN' UP. They don't play their worst songs in this show (their worst being HEART & SOUL), but a lot of them sound too similar. S.O.S. is a little catchy, and TONIGHT and HOLD ON are just average. But overall, it's a pretty weak setlist. The best song of the show was THIS IS ME, which is Demi Lovato's.

Since I didn't like most of the songs, I was glad that the movie was short. But in retrospective, it should've been longer. The whole point of making these movies is to see something back-stage, whether it's the rehearsals for the show or just watching the musicians' lives. We don't see any of that, so I don't feel like I learnt anything new about them. Most of what they show during the songs are the fans. Watching them cry and literally faint is kind of funny, though. Also, they spend 2 whole minutes showing guys disguised as them, and I still don't know why. Therefore, NEVER SAY NEVER was a better movie.

Speaking of that, one of the most important aspects of a concert is how the singer/band entertains the audience. Kevin is incredibly bland and boring. At times he doesn't put enough energy in his voice. Nick is worse. I can't even tell when he changes his face expression. Joe is the only one who injects life into the performance, even when he jumps around like Mick Jagger. Therefore, I sort of agree with them winning the Razzie for Worst Actor.

They only do a couple of cool things during the show. Enough for me to consider maybe paying to see this live. But to make a movie about it? I don't think so. I mean, concerts are filmed all the time, but they're released direct-to-DVD. The theatrical releases should be one of a kind.

Any thoughts?
