For those interested in British literature, I wrote a blog post on 9 Essential Stops for a Literary Tour Through the UK!

I hope you enjoy :) . Has anyone visited these places before? I'm dying to go to the Bronte parsonage museum.

I replied to you when you posted on the P&P board a few months ago. 

I've visited the Bronte Parsonage Museum, Jane Austen's House (less than two hour's drive from my house), Beatrix Potter's House, the Globe Theatre, Kensington Gardens and Oxford.

Haworth is lovely and, of course, there are many events being held this year to mark Charlotte Bronte's bicentenary.

If there aren't any skeletons in a man's closet, there's probably a Bertha in his attic.

Hi Supergran! (Great username by the way)

Thank you for replying again :)

Oh my, how fun...You've visited everywhere I want to go! Especially the Parsonage Museum. If you're so inclined, feel free to leave a comment on the blog post - I'm sure other readers would love to hear about your experiences!

When is the bicentenary? I'd love to be there for that.

No love for the moors around Hathersage, where Jane wanders before finding Moor End and her cousins?

I have been to all of the places you mention, and am now lucky enough to live very close to Hathersage and those wonderful bleak moors.

Charlotte Bronte was born 21 April 1816, so the bicentenary is next month.

April 21...one day before my 30th birthday! Hmm...birthday gift to me?

And great call on the Hathersage moors! You're very lucky to live there :) . Maybe I'll have to do a Part II including them. What else did I forget?

Lucky you!

I spent a very nice weekend in the area a few years ago, visiting Haddon Hall, Stanage Edge and North Lees Hall (thought to be the inspiration for Thornfield Hall). Here's someone's YT film of North Lees:

I also stumbled across the little house that was used as Moor House in Jane Eyre 2006. It's situated right under Stanage Edge (in The Dale):
