It's a school reunion. The songs they were playing were all 25-30 years old. Unless it was an elementary school reunion, that means Kyla is supposed to be in her late 40s. The actress obviously isn't that old. She'd have been listening to, I don't know, Chumbawumba when she was in high school.

I think the banner had "91" printed on it. That would make it her 20 Year Reunion. That would make her age in the late 30s.
The songs played didn't really reflect the music that was popular/released during that period.

I distinctly remember the banner at the reunion said Class of '91, 20 year reunion, so Kyla would be about 38.
