I imagine she would have survived had the show not gotten cancelled. She was vital to the show though I hated her character. I think if she got her come-uppance more often then I would have liked her more.

They could easily have continued and in a different direction.
I haven't gotten to that episode but I am looking forward to it.
I too believe she would have survived. Two reasons really. 1: After the shot, as she fell, there was also a sound I'd describe best as a sigh, sounded like Lenore, not Sandy. Maybe she didn't even get shot. Maybe Sandy missed. Or maybe she was in shock and had sort of an underreaction to being shot. But she didn't die instantaneously at any rate. 2: She mentioned right before opening the door that she thought it was her food being delivered. So it feels to me like we might've gotten a scene of the delivery person finding her, and there would've been more to that scene if she were alive.
That said, I would've wanted her to die, would've been interesting to see the other characters involved in the murder mystery. Because Sandy's certainly not the only person who'd have reason to shoot her.
