Im just stating the fact that saying U2 or the edge rock makes about as much sense as masterbating with icy hot
shareSunday Bloody Sunday? Bullet the Blue Sky? The Fly? Exit?
I Will Follow? Until the End of the World? New Year's Day? No Line on the Horizon?

bullet the blue sky is okay, and just because you're naming off songs doesn't make them anymore of a rock band and the edge anymore of a good guitarist
shareWell, I'm naming songs that are some of their 'harder' songs. Why don't you think they are a rock band?
sharebecause they don't 'rock'. on the rock meter I'd put U2 right up there with nickelback and daughtry, I hope makes my point
shareErr... Sorry, I disagree. Yeah, they're not as heavy as Zeppelin, but they definitely could rock out when they wanted to. At least they used to, not so much lately, but they're nowhere near as turgid as NB and Daughtry. I think the best label for U2 would be Pop/Rock.
It's still a form of rock music though, and to say that people who like U2 don't like rock is ridiculous.
My 5 favorite bands are Zeppelin, Floyd, AC/DC, U2 and Metallica. Are the other 4 just not rock then, blameitnmyyouth?
I can understand why someone wouldn't like U2, but that doesn't mean they're not rock. I'm not a genre guy, I like the above bands because they write amazing songs, not specifically because they're "rock". U2 has an amazingly rich catalog, and I'll stand in the front row and rock out just as I would for AC/DC (oh and I've done both in the past 3 months).
Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos
dont feed the troll its obvious this moron just wants attention..."U2 isnt rock" what an uneducated statement...you dont like U2 thats fine but just say you dont like U2 to say they arent rock is like saying the beatles arent the best rock band ever
shareU2 with Nickleback and Daughtrey? or whatever they're called? I really don't think so.
They're sort in a league of their own. They've spawned the likes of Radiohead, Coldplay, Muse, Snow Patrol, The Killers and Glasvegas and had a large input into the style and sound of other bands and musicians. Rage Against The Machine?
ha they've spawned a bunch of other pussy non rock bands awesome, and no rage wasn't influenced by them
shareMorrello was.
shareFu*k you, U2 is amazing! They are comparable to The Beatles. And if you don't like U2, then why do you like The Beatles?
shareWhy do I like the beatles, what kind of question is that? Because they're great
shareWell, so is U2
shareNobody is really going to allow U2 to be compared to The Beatles or The Stones simply because they don't follow the traditional path of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll.
Despite the fact that they have experimented with different musical styles.
You know this doco is about the electric guitar and not rock bands? Half the clips they show are of blues musicians, for example Son House. Would you cry because Jimmy Page isn't a straight blues musician?
Also as stated in the doco U2 started out as a punk band with their focus on passion and politics. These days it's safe to say they're a pop rock band.
And thirdly why cry about any of the three participants? they chose 3 guitarists with different aesthetics in regards to guitar playing and concepts. Jack White being the new generation with his influences worn on his sleeve. If you want to read into it, Jack White is the middle ground between Page and The Edge. He's an advocate for toys and new techniques (Edge) but plays with dirt under his nails and prefers grit to polish (Page)
"I saw the best minds of my generation
destroyed by madness"
because they don't 'rock'. on the rock meter I'd put U2 right up there with nickelback and daughtry, I hope makes my point
It is AWESOME jerking it with Icy Hot! You should definitely try it.
I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.
I'm not really a huge fan of U2, some of their stuff is pretty bland.
But I will admit that they released 2 or 3 classic albums in the 80s that stand the test of time. 'War', 'The Unforgettable Fire' and 'The Joshua Tree' are all worth taking a listen to.
'Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' is one of the greatest songs in the history of rock n roll. I really can't sing the praises of this song enough. Not only are Bono's lyrics incredibly enlightening and thematic, but the Edge's guitar work on that track is incredible. So many different sounds coming at you at once, it turns the song into a whirlwind of spiritual art. GREAT great track.
Jack White probably couldn't write a song as complex or emotional as that if his life depended on it.
Limit of the Willing Suspension of Disbelief: directly proportional to it's awesomeness.
yeah go #beep# yourself too, U2 is one of the three or four greatest rock acts of all time, go suck on a tailpipe if you don't like it.

4) You ever seen Superman $#$# his pants? Case closed.
Sucking on a tailpipe is AWESOME! Especially in a closed garage. The OP should try it.
