Possible goof (spoiler)

First of all the movie is superb and the ending is really powerful. Now the goof is toward the end when his brother stabs the guy in jail, no blood is seen on his shirt. A stab wound to the jugular would send blood flying at a very high velocity but no blood went on the brothers clothing.
