Eli has feelings for Owen, confirmed by original author.

This isn't new news, but I recently had a conversation with someone who suggested this was ambiguous. And while it may have been in the films, the author's intent was clearly shown in the sequel novella 'Let the old dreams die" which shows Owen and Eli in a photo in 2008 with Owen not aged a day.

Of course, you can take the films how you want to, art allows that, but the original authors intent was they they had feelings for each other.

You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, Darling!

I think you meant Oskar, not Owen. Owen is from Let Me In, not Let The Old Dreams Die.

I think you meant Abby, not Eli. Eli is from Let the Right One In.

Hard to say for sure since everyone seems to have a different take on it, but the director did point out he took direct inspiration from the film Klute for the scene where Abby smiles at Owen in the arcade while he isn't looking. He mentioned that was a way to show real feelings for another character.

If anything, I think Abby showed stronger hints of feelings for Owen than Eli did for Oscar.

Agreed. I think one reason for that is that Abby was played more as a 12 year old - albeit a sad one - than Eli. Personal opinion.
