The confrontation between Phil and Paul was a fitting outcome.
But, as a deeply shallow person, I was a bit disappointed that Paul didn't just shoot the place up.

I'm guessing the paint gun was a metaphor for patton's character's life. He couldn't even conjure up the courage to use a real gun. He was still just a boy, just like his mother said.
