It's great for what it is. Why the low rating?

As a slasher movie with lots of gore, this movie really delivers. I don't know why it would get a low rating. I'm not so big on these kinds of movies, but I saw it anyway, and I was surprised at how violent and gory it was.

I hear all this garbage about, "bad acting" or "bad editing", but who cares? Number one, I doubt these posters know anything about film editing. Number two, in what way did the acting not match the material? It's a movie about a slasher with a skull mask. Were you hoping for Meryl Streep? I'm trying to think of any slasher movies with BETTER acting, and I can't. OK, Brad Dourif in the Halloween movies, but everybody hates those anyway.

Well there goes 90 minutes of my life that I'll never get back

Was it that bad? I've had it on my bookshelf for a couple of years but haven't watched it yet.

It's a little slow at the beginning. But for a slasher movie the kills are really brutal and gross. The girl gets hotter as the movie goes on.

I really enjoyed it, there were a few original components. If you enjoy slasher movies, watch it. It won't waste 90 minutes of your life. (My opinion) I'll watch it again in about a year after my mind has been inundated with so many otherv B, C and bomb movies that this will seem fresh (again!).

i never understood the complaints about "Bad Acting" either it seems like some people forgot this was a slasher film. Bobby Sue Luther did good with the lines she was given. for the gore alone i rate it a 10

Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today

Bobbi Sue Luther and Sean Whalen were awful and on top of that the sets/locations looked too clean and just not right in some areas. Kevin Gage, Lucas Till and the guy that played the killer, Nick Principe, were good in this movie and the special effects were very good. I do think people did not want to see the killer killed off at the end the way he was done in which takes away from the film. I also can't understand why the girl in the coffin did not want to stick around in the end to talk of what happened. It seemed the right thing to do and they did not have to show her explaining anything but could have had a scene with a shot where it showed a police car or cars pulling up and the girl maybe being consoled by the guy outside the gas bar or whatever. I just have some different ideas for many of the scenes that would have given it a gritty, dirtier more real feel.

The negatives I mentioned here are why I would rate it lower than other horror/thriller/slasher movies.
