sam rockwell very underrated imo

why is that guy still mostly in side roles? or maybe it is his own choice?

is he seen as a star in the usa?

reply

I think he stole the show. Especially his delivery during his demo to the US military. That "ex-wife" line was hilarious!

reply

I'd like him to come back. Perhaps as part of a super villain team up.

reply

He was extremely entertaining in this

This movie made me question why I usually hold him to a high standard tbh, he was that bad in it.

We don't have a dog. That was just some really violent sex.

He's an excellent actor. His performance as Justin Hammer is one of the best things about Iron Man 2

"I'm just a happy camper! Rockin' and a-rollin'!" - Patrick Bateman, American Psycho

reply

He was so funny in this.

He's one of the few actors who seems to realize that a side character can overshadow all others if done well - and has the confidence in his ability to be that actor. And I say this after listening to various interviews where actors refuse to sign up to a project that doesn't have them as the lead. Most of those actors headline a lot of crappy films.

I've always liked Sam and I thought he was hilarious in this movie.

My main complaint is like Ben Kingsley's Mandarin in #3, he is not Justin Hammer. Should have made him a new character or maybe Edwin Cord would have been more apropos.

reply

I can see that. Justin Hammer was a different guy entirely in the comics. I didn't like the Mandarin, either, though. Mostly because he was unfunny (Kingsley is talented but I'm not sure zany comedy is his forte') and it made no sense to the plot (they never truly explain why they needed to get a drugged out actor on camera as opposed to just having a decoy).
