Toeing the BBC line

Did you notice that, when he dealt with the crash in property prices, Lee picked on Channel Four?

The truth is that the BBC has done more to inflate the UK property bubble than all Britain's other television stations put together. On the morning of the evening this episode went out, BBC One screened estate agents telling property developers how many thousands of pounds profit they could expect from home improvements they'd just made.

Channel Four have at least stopped running this sort of "property porn". The BBC is still showing innocent people the road to the poorhouse via dreams of fantasy wealth - exactly the accusation Lee made against Channel Four.

It's tragic to see a comedian as good as Stewart Lee turning his talents to reinforcing BBC hypocrisy and the culture of immunity that infects the corporation.

Michael McIntryre = dull
Frankie Boyle - edgy comedy. Hates Kerry Katonna. And Rebecca Adlindgton.
Stewie just takes the piss out of MM.
Soft targets.

Stewart Lee is one of, if not the, most independent comedians going, and I have seen him numerous times attacking the BBC for banality and dumbing down (in his last show he spent a long part of his show attacking Top Gear, one of the BBC's biggest shows). While he may have singled out Channel 4 I'm sure he was blaming all such shows. I don't think "edgy" is something a comedian should try to be, they should be funny and try to say what they think of the world.

Watch 'milder comedian' if you really want to see Stew attacking Mr Boyle.
