poor delimar

Towards the ending when the police and when the social worker snatched her away from the only mother she ever knew was the saddest part that made me cry. It must have been really hard to have to go through and then be placed with the family who were strangers to her. I felt sorry for delimar, I hope she adjusted well to her real mommy.

What? So you would let the woman who kidnapped her and set her family's house on fire keep her? That would basically set a standard for kidnappers that "hey if you get away with it for so long and bond with the kid then good on you; finders keepers." This is already pretty much what happens in custodial kidnappings so there is no way that it should be the same for "stranger" abductions.

Plus real life didn't exactly happen like the movie. They used some dramatic license. In the true story family services took Delimar before the DNA test and then when the tests came back they went to arrest Correa but she fled leaving her other 3 children behind. She turned herself in later.

So she had other kids. She wasn't some woman who couldn't conceive desperate for a baby. By all accounts Delimar is doing amazing with her family and has integrated back into the fold quite well.

Taking away other circumstances. And don't you dare wish infertility upon another person. That's bad karma and that's just rude.

This woman who kidnapped her is a criminal. She sentenced to 9 to 30 years in prison after attempting to run away, even leaving her other children who are presumably her natural children behind. There is a good chance that those children entered the foster care system. Delimar is now where she has always belonged. It may be difficult for her, but she is not in Foster Care with strangers who cannot love her as Luz does. She is Home.
