Question about the fire (with spoilers)

This is on right now, and I figured the cousin took the baby because I think I've seen parts of this movie on tv before, and also, she was acting so strangely about asking the husband if she could come to their party and all.

But if the baby wasn't in the fire, what was it that the fireman carried out and put in the ambulance that looked like a bundled up baby? I could see them looking over there and crying, like that was the baby's body, but obviously it wasn't. So it made no sense. But I did also notice the baby wasn't in the baby bed when the mother went up to look for her, so I knew she wasn't in there when the fire started.

Apparently the bundle carried by the fireman was mattress material from Delimar's bed. They should have known that there would have been bone fragments from the baby. The fire was not hot enough to incinerate the baby's skeleton.

Oh, ok. I know, right.
