In the Loop/VEEP pilot
Having viewed a bit of In the Loop I got an unmistakable vibe that it was the root for VEEP the series. Anna Chlumsky appears in this piece as an aide and of course she is also in VEEP.
Has this been noticed by others??
Well, it is the same producer - Armando Iannucci. He tends to do a particular style of work (dark political comedy), and he likes to work with the same actors, kind of like Christopher Guest. In Veep, he's also used David Rasche (Linton Barwick), Mimi Kennedy (Karen Clark) and Zach Woods (the sperm that made it).
