Did John Kerry’s recent comments remind anyone else of this film?

I couldn’t help but think of this film in regard to John Kerry’s off-the-cuff remark on September 9th about how a military action could be avoided in Syria. His government is building a case for war and he throws out his own spin on “war is unforeseeable”, basically saying that “war is not unavoidable”.

SIMON FOSTER
I was going to keep to the line.
I was going to say,

I don't think war is unforeseeable...

MALCOM TUCKER
What is it, then?

SIMON FOSTER
I dunno. Foreseeable? No.

MALCOM TUCKER
No! Not foreseeable.
That's *beep* declaring war.

Do you want to *beep* declare war?

SIMON FOSTER
I'm a Cabinet minister.
I didn't get here by screwing up every media appearance I ever had.

MALCOM TUCKER
Write this down.
It's neither foreseeable nor unforeseeable.

SIMON FOSTER
Right, so not inevitable, but not...

MALCOM TUCKER
You'd better walk on this *beep* line.

SIMON FOSTER

...evitable.

The brilliant John Oliver referred to Kerry and his blunder into avoiding military intervention as a "peace-goofing slapstick Ghandi".

"I apologise for my appearance, but I have had a difficult time these past several years."
