sent to her grandmother's in the first place. if they had the home address of the mom/grandmom?
shareI have a feeling they only had the last known address of the Mom in San Francisco and when Gilly wrote to her, the letter made its way to her grandmother (maybe she had paid somebody in the building to send her anything getting there for her daughter? I don't know)
