Jessica Chastain is amazing in this.

Even with all the buzz for The Help, Take Shelter and Tree of Life(great performances), I have to say she gave the most incredible performance in this movie. She stole every single scene she was in, her body language was exquisite troughout the film, she was probably one of the best elements of the picture.

I am watching this film now. All I see in Jessica Chastain in this movie is the loving mother in The Tree Of Life! She is an excellent actress, and I thoroughly buy her as the Young Rachel over Helen Mirren's Old Rachel.

Chastain made this movie!

The New York Rangers suck. And Sidney Crosby is a cry baby!

I have to agree. She was probably the best element of this movie.
The scenes with her in the doctor's office were riveting. It is too bad
this movie went off the rails SO badly in the finale.

"Tide's up. Time to stay alive...."

I agree she was probably the most convincing performer and that the scenes in the gynaecologist's surgery were the most fraught. I really felt for Chastain's character. Chastain and the actor who played the doctor were the most memorable for me. But they were all good.

She is so believable in all the roles she commits to.

Agreed. This was the very first film I had seen her in and I remember thinking: "This young unknown actress is going places!". An incredible talent. She was excellent and the best part of the film (along with Jesper Christansen, Dr. Vogel,) who was superb. It is amazing to me the commitment she has to every role she plays. In real life (interviews, etc.) I found her annoying, pretensious and a little naive. But, when on screen, she becomes the character she is playing. Now, that is talent.

Except for one thing: she speaks German with an awful American accent. She's supposed to be a Jew pretending to be a German who had been living in South America. Not seeing where the American accent comes in.

Her accent was by far the worst in the film. It's a shame, since other than that she did a very good job.

She is a wonderful, beautiful actress who lights up the screen every time she's in a scene. One of the best actresses today. Love her.

Yes, she most definitely has skills.
