I just read the Lovecraft tale for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I began researching these film adaptations. I watched a review on Youtube of this one that broke down most of the new story and showed lots of scenes, and it looks awful. I don't care to see it. The 1970 isn't a very good adaptation either, but overall it is probably the much better film between the two. To answer your question, though...no, you don't get to see Wilbur as anything other than a creepy serial killer who wears all black, kidnapping young pretty ladies to sacrifice to his monster brother. Ugh.
