I thought this movie was absolutely superb. There was something intriguing between the lines, a bit like a Peter Weir movie. The depth that materialises gradually during the movie, about doing the right thing, honour and integrity, whilst up against a huge invulnerable giant like government, was captivating.

it's currently my #1 movie of this 2010's decade and i have seen at least 273+ movies at the time of this post that where released from 2010 to date. but basically the movie is carried by Mel Gibson and Ray Winstone is a nice bonus and the general atmosphere/feel of the movie.

even conservatively, it's still within my Top 9 movies from 2010 to date which would be...

1.Edge of Darkness (2010) - 9/10
2.Source Code (2011) - 8-8.5/10 (i would not be surprised if i eventually change my vote from a 8/10 to a 9/10 on this site though)

-Kick-Ass (2010) - 8/10
-True Grit (2010)
-The American (2010)
-The Town (2010)
-Kill The Irishman (2011)
-The Descendants (2011)

9.Skyfall (2012) (my #2 James Bond movie of them all behind my clear #1 Casino Royale (note: Edge of Darkness is directed by Martin Campbell who directed Casino Royale))

p.s. the last time i seen Edge of Darkness was May 31st 2012, which makes at least my 2nd viewing of it (maybe 3rd, but no more than 4th), and i think it will continue to hold there though on another viewing.

EDIT: i just finished seeing this again (on Oct 21st 2013) and it still holds strong and is my #1 movie of this current 2010's decade just like i said above.

It was great like you said, and I didn't know who was going to live or die. The cast was AMAZING. The daughter and her boyfriend were really great.

It was definitely captivating.

One of the best conspiracy thrillers done in my book, it goes all the way, no compromise, no director smuggling.

It is also a combination of a conspiracy movie and a revenge flick.

I really like it and enjoy watching it. Conspiracy thrillers is my fave genre.
