Interesting film, poor performances by the Brentano Quartet

It's too bad this interesting and rather rare look inside the world of highbrow music did not feature better performances of string quartets. The Brentano Quartet has a dry, academic sound, no sense of style, and are WAY over their heads with late Beethoven. It would have been better to dub old recordings of the Guarneri Quartet or find a live one with a better sense of performance, not to mention a richer tone.
