I love this film, however,......(spoile rs too)

I can not STAND Imogen Poots (Alex). Her bucked teeth render her speech UNBEARABLE. And, I guess given her dialog, she's presumably being made out to be some gorgeous, wispy young woman wise beyond her ears (her conversation in the car describing to the first violinist the characteristics of each member of the quartet, for example - it's absolutely cringe-worthy, IMO). But in fact, she's revoltingly ugly, with her bucked teeth, huge nose, ugly lips, and speech impediment (due to her bucked teeth). And of course, she sleeps with her instructor, who is also her father's nemesis. And, she's a bit of a bitch to her mother.

It's beyond my understanding how one could have such a strong reaction to such a trivial thing. I agree to an extent that the scene in the car wasn't exactly adequate imho but it fits into the greater scheme of this movie which doesn't pretend not to be melodramatic. And it does very well considering that and despite that.

This is possibly the dumbest thing I have ever read on imdb boards. I ask myself how do you ever enjoy any movie with such standards? Great looks gets you into B movies and blockbusters at best. This isn't either of those. You should try watching something else.

Not that it really matters for the movie, but this girl was gorgeous. By any reasonable male standards.
