The Lover is Unattractive and none sexually arousing!

Also that's the worst first kiss in the history of movies! Not knowing what this film was about I was not expecting that kiss to happen because there was no CHEMISTRY and any "heat" there may have been, Tilda Swilton brought it thru her majorly great acting skills.

The none existent sex appeal from the chef murdered the movie for me however I loved the message!!! The children were full-grown and leading their own lives, it was time for Mommy to seek her own HAPPILY EVER AFTER inspite of son's accidental death haven just occurred she saw the light and went for it. LOOOVEEED!

Surely others share my sentiments in regards to ugly chef?

Sorry if this comment has been made, Feeling strongly about my view that I had to post even if it's a possible re-post.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course, and you are entitled to think the chef is "ugly," but I am here to say: HE. IS. HOT.

reply

OP must have watched a different film than the one I saw.

The chef was sexy and charasmatic. Of course, he was not physically appealing from an American GQ standpoint, but like a previous poster said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Besides, the chef was much more than just a roll in the hay. He symbolized so much more for Emma. You cannot ignore his significance to the themes of this film by writing him off as "ugly." That's a superficial and oversimplied view.

I don't think that's a legitimate criticism. Whether we find the chef sexually attractive is not relevant at all here.

reply

I also thought he was pretty hot!

Oh, well. Beauty is subjective.

Come on. Did you see her husband? Antonio was way sexier than him.

reply

Uhhhhhh

The moment I saw Antonio I was like "deeyum, he's fine" and when they had their love scene i was like "go, tilda, get it"
