***SPOILER*** my interpretation of the ending

Last scene

There is a non-verbal interplay between mother & daughter – an understanding and affirmation.
In the middle of this Diane, Edoardo's girlfiend, gets up and starts speaking names. She's reciting baby names, maybe ones she & Edoardo have talked about.)
Then she touches her belly. (signaling in here!)

Betta understands this isn’t over - there is a continuation – but mum is gone.

I’m going to watch again so I’m looking for a different interpretation.

Good movie- loved the villa

She interrupts seeking attention because she's miscarrying, not tossing baby names.

Those weren't baby names. Eva (not Diane) was trying to get everyone's attention, as Emma is leaving. It seems Eva is pregnant with her deceased boyfriend's baby. Betta is a lesbian. And Emma is running off to be with her lover, Antonio.

All that on the same day as a funeral of their beloved son, brother, and boyfriend...Edo.

I agree with you completely. Nice to know we have the same point of view.
