"Extract" and "Office Space"

I love this movie; have seen it several times over the years. I noticed, however, that Mike Judge's comedy, "Office Space", which came out about ten years earlier, is basically the same movie-?? I believe he even said on the DVD extras that they were intended to be similar, only one film is told from the perspective of the employee, the other from the employer. Check this out-->> Ron Livingston is Jason Bateman of course. Diedrich Bader is Ben Affleck. Alexandra Wentworth is Kristen Wiig. And Jen Aniston is Mila Kunis. The crossroads scene in "Office Space" is the scene with the hypnotherapist, and in "Extract", it's the smoking scene.. Any other similarities..??

A better crossroads scene is when Joel/Jason takes the horse tranquilizer from Dean/Ben, goes a little crazy, and hires the gigolo. Great movies.

Koechner is Lumberg. Joel tries to avoid him, passive aggressive AF.

Yep, Mike Judge knows that idiots are everywhere and employees aren't perpetual victims. I've been supervising people for 30 years, anytime someone insinuates that I'm on easy street because I'm "the boss" I invite them to have a go at my world and see if they have the same attitude. Of course the people who insinuate such nonsense have never supervised people and have no idea of the endless BS that comes with it. On the flip side, I'm paid well to put up with the BS so it comes with the job.
