A little gem of a movie.

I quite enjoyed this little hidden gem of a movie.

It had a lot going for it-- especially the rogue's gallery of top-notch character actors peppered throughout. In particular, JK Simmons, Beth Grant, David Koechner, and Clifton Collins Jr., who pretty much nails a performance that recalls the type of role only Warren Oates could play.

That got me thinking about what kind of reception the film would've gotten had Mike Judge set the story in an earlier time-- as a period piece set in say 1978 or 1981-- or even 1989.

I even liked Ben Affleck's character. Although I would have sprung extra $$$ for a better wig.
