Man...

I don't understand how this is getting such low ratings. It's not a Hollywood feature, so the production value is little less than we're used to, but the story is great and the emotion is real. Being a Philly native, I may be a little biased, but I enjoyed this movie more than any movie I've seen recently (and I watch a lot of movies).

I too think this was a very well thought out movie. We watch the ex-fighter grow up and help out a family in need of his protection and mentoring. He kept his word that Jesus and his Mother would not be harmed by Jesus's Father ever again. I too think this was a excellent movie, much better than fodder like "Milk." Sadly that type of anti-establishment/family movie is what blows air up the Hollyweird reviewer type legs it seems sadly.

Chleapa, my advice to you is to change your attitude because you're trying to sail against the wind (because you're f-ing stupid, ignorant and most likely brain washed) and soon your ship is going to be torn to shreds by your own hate.
Homosexuality = anti-establishment/family - I guess homosexuals don't have families. Wonder where they came from. Outerspace? Moron.

Peace be with you.

WayneBrady: I agree. I loved this movie and everything you say is true. I'm from New York City so there might not be bias on my behalf, but a great movie is a great movie and this movie was great. How great? I just saw it and will buy the DVD, I will see if I can also write a personal letter to those responsible for this film. I haven't seen such a sad and inspiring movie in years, my praise for this movie has to do with the love that went into it also, I could feel the love that went into this film. Thank you to those responsible for this film, I look forward to more from the director and writer(s). I also really liked the kid in the movie and hope he gets more roles.

I heard that Obama panned it.... I guess that makes it a bad movie.
