What is your rank?

Right now i'm a two star and my online rank is 9010. Does anybody know if it's possible to get into the 10000's?

im still working on becoming a one star and my online rank is about 6500...
i have never seen anybody get to the 10000s, but i think once you get to the late 9900s, the game begins to give you only 1 to 5 points for winning.
do u wanna play online? my friend code is 3394-3954-4165.

Holy sh!t, dude you're good. Anyways, my BR is 7500 (rounding down) and I've got one star. I forget about the races since I never race anymore, but it's probably around 6000.

What are these stars you talk of? Sorry, I'm a novice at the online play. In fact, I own the Wii + Mario Kart, and I'm the only person who hasn't played online out of all my friends and family!

Here's some basic info on Star Ranks, courtesy of GameFAQs (link: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/wii/code/942008.html):

"Have a star by your nickname
Playing extraordinarily well in Grand Prix races can produce a Star Ranking upto 3 at the end results instead of the standard "C, B or A."

Collecting these stars in all Grand Prix's adds a Star Icon next to your name in WiFi Races and on the Results Screen for your opponents to see.

(Note: Say, if you get a Three star rating in every Grand Prix except one which you got a One star rating in. You would get a One starred nickname until you manage to upgrade the rank.)"

And a more detailed excerpt from the GameFAQs "Information on how to Achieve a Star Rank - Version 1.0" Mini-FAQ by 1j12 (link: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=942008&topic=43533083):

"IVa. Guidelines for getting a 1-Star Rank:

Trying to get a 1-Star Rank allows for some leeway, but not too much. To earn a 1-Star Rank, you'll still have to play well.

-You are allowed to bang into walls (1 or 2 times)
-You are allowed to bang into obstacles (1 or 2 times)
-Stay on road as much as you can (Off-roading is allowed 2 to 3 times without a boost)
-Try not to fall off the track (Once is allowed, twice almost guarantees a non-Star Rank)
-Do as many tricks/tactics as you can. Drift Boost, Snaking, Wheelie, etc. (This is a rumor, but it may help)
-Stay in first for a good amount of the race
-Try not use items to catch up to other players (once is allowed. Ties into the above reason)
-Finish as fast as possible
-You must get 53 points or more (47 according to Milon) as your grand total

IVb. Guidelines for getting a 2-Star Rank:

Trying to get a 2-Star Rank is obviously harder than trying to get a 1-Star Rank. It allows for little leeway.

-Try not to bang into walls
-Try not to bang into obstacles
-Stay on the road as much as you can (Off-roading is allowed 1 to 2 times without a boost)
-Try not to fall off the track (maybe once, but it almost guarantees you a 1-Star Rank)
-Do as many tricks/tactics as you can. Drift Boost, Snaking, Wheelie, etc. (This is a rumor, but it may help)
-Try to stay in first for most of the race
-Try not to use items to catch up to other players
-Finish as fast as possible
-You must get 55 points or more (53 according to Milon) as your grand total

IVc. Guidelines for getting a 3-Star Rank:

Trying to get a 3-Star Rank is no doubt harder than getting one of the two previous Star Ranks. It allows for almost no leeway.

-Try not to bang into walls
-Try not to bang into obstacles
-Stay on the road (unless you have a boost item to allow you to travel off-road)
-Try not to fall off the track
-Do as many tricks/tactics as you can. Drift Boost, Snaking, Wheelie, etc. (This is a rumor, but it may help)
-Stay in first for much of the time in races
-Try not to use items to catch up to other players
-Finish as fast as possible
-You must get 60 points as your grand total"
