Ending (spoilers)

Who were the two young men sitting on the curb in the final shot of the movie? Was one of them the painter who left his pregnant girlfriend? Thanks.

reply

Nope. If you had watched the movie, you will see this scene where a lady carrys her son and walked towards the box office counter, asking Nayda if her son is providing service in the theatre.

The 2 men were actually the young man and a client. And the young man was the son the lady is looking for.

Hope that this helps.

wow interesting u brought up this question cos i found the movie absolutely boring that i didn't think of anything else but leave the moment the credits started rolling!

I hear you, Shalomp. I was disappointed myself. It wasn't terrible, but not very good either. That final shot ripped off the end of Two Lane Blacktop, as well.

i understand its a very real account of life in philippines made in the setting of a lewd picture house. but a movie is still a movie and first and foremost, it has to be entertaining before the underlying message of the movie is appreciated by the viewer.

Your post failed to entertain me - therefore you have failed in expressing your 'message'.

"Entertain" can mean something so simple as making one care about what's happening.

Some people need very little to care, others need more, making a movie more "entertaining" can widen the number of people the movie can effectively reach, so it is not necessarily a bad thing.

The movie was a failure in attracting people like Shalomp, otherwise he would be more interested in talking about what the movie was about.
