Don't watch the English version!

I don't know what went wrong in the internationalizing of this movie. I'm Dutch and got a dvd that said Forbidden Kingdom (something that when searched for on imdb only gives the Jackie Chan movie), the only language was English with Dutch subtitles optional. I was sat thinking about how the speech sync looked really bad and like it was dubbed.. turns out it is.. normally a dvd here would almost always give the option for the original audio with subs. I searched the actor Jason Flemyng to try and find out the original language, couldn't find the movie at first because in his list it's named Viy and even going there the poster says Forbidden Empire. We shut if off and I plan on trying to locate an original Russian version with subs or something cause it can't be any worse than what I just tried to watch

The English dubbing in this film is not that great.

It's that man again!!

I'm also going to try the Russian version. The English dubbing is hilariously awful.
I'm not entirely sure the Russian will help any. The whole film is like Tim Burton, Guillermo del toro and the Brothers Grimm got together and took drugs. Lots and lots of drugs. And then they let Quentin Tarrantino write a few lines. But first they got him drunk. Very, very drunk.
But as you say, it can't possibly be any worse than this version!

That sounds pretty appealing to me.

Now imagine that, but then they run it through Russuan, Dutch and Swedish on Google translate before dubbing it back to English.
