Apparently this film came first. That said, the theme is so common (in real life), that there HAD to be films (or at least books) of it back in the 1920s/40s/60s, oui/non?
shareThey seem to be making a lot of movies about this these days (there's also the French film "Elles"). Is it really because it's that big of social problem or because sex always sells (look at the movie poster)? Back in the more exploitative 70's "Eurotrash" era when the low-rent Italian film industry was more dominant, they made a lot of European films about HIGH SCHOOL call girl rings, which I suspect was not REALLY that big of problem in Europe. Maybe it is with university students living away from home and increasingly unable to make ends meet these days, but I also suspect these "classier" films might just be a little less honest in their exploitation.
I for one can't honestly say I watched this or "Mes Cheres" or "Elles" ENTIRELY out of social concern about what sexy European co-eds are doing these days to afford college...
