Rob's video versus the re-edit.

I thought it was a very interesting touch that could be interpreted in many different ways.

His version can be seen as cutting through the BS. It focuses on the nuances and the real 'truth' within a moment. It actually carries something deeper even if it's "depressing". There's an immediacy there.

Then comes the 're-edit' which is a full-on sentimental version, with music, and a bunch of "selected" moments that aren't really genuine. Instantly forgettable, the moment the video is over, and kids are dismissed.

Two very distinct takes on a tragedy. And while you can argue that Rob is indeed "weird" and "insane" - I think the fact remains; that Rob's version is more memorable than the school version.

Campos, I think, is also making a statement here about cinema in general. Everyone who came online right after to discuss the film (whether positively, or negatively), clearly thought about it longer than they would about a standard fare Hollywood film that's instantly forgettable.

Would be curious to hear other responses and interpretations.
