How to pronounce the title

Is it Jericho like the city/TV show with Skeet Ulrich?

Or is it Chow rhyming with cow?

As a German title it is probably intended to be pronounced:

yer-ee-hof The ch pronounced as the Greek "X" or Spanish "J" jota.

It's located somewhat parrallel to Berlin but west of it. So based on the story in this film I don't understand how they could seem so close to the Baltic sea. Jerichow is located at least 50 or more miles away from the coast.

The link http://www.forvo.com/word/jerichow/#de provided below by Fig_Neutron gives an accurate pronunciation.

The beach scenes were filmed at Ahrenshoop (ah-rens-hoh-ohp, not ah-ren-shoop) on the Baltic Sea, which according to Google maps is about a 3-hour drive (250km, 155m) N-NE from Jerichow. This explains the first long drive back at night. There's a good photo of the beach and cliff at Wikipedia, plus a map.

Although the Wikipedia article on Jerichow says the name has nothing to do with the city of Jericho, but is an ancient Slavic name meaning its location on the Elbe River, I would guess that Petzold chose this name for his film in reference to something relating to the Biblical story of Jericho - otherwise it seems entirely arbitrary.
