All the expressiveness of Chuck Norris or Stephen Seagal in this actor's face. If you are going to follow John Garfield and Jack Nicholson in this role, you'd better have a good deal of acting chops, and Furmann doesn't. The Turkish actor Sozer has much more presence (and viciousness) and impresses me a lot more.

I think you sell Norris and Seagal short. The only other movie I can remember seeing Furmann in is The Princess and the Warrior, and he was just as wooden in that one. Princess was 8 years before Jerichow, so I guess he wasn't working on improving his craft in the meantime.
