What was the fight about?

Near the end of the film, as Raul is going down the stairs, a fight in the kitchen breaks out with some stranger and Goya and you hear a lot of things being smashed. What was that all about? That really ruined the movie for me! I hate films like this that leave open-ended questions!

Actually the name is "goyo" which is short for "Gregorio" in Chile. The stranger was one of the gestapo-like police Chile had during the dictatorship years who were questioning Pauli about the pamphlets against the military regime.

This contained no open-ended questions. It was the police, coming to question Goyo and possibly haul him and the girl off. It is implied that the mother gave them the information that they were working against the government... possibly out of jealousy and spite towards her own daughter.

In the scene where Raul stalks the dude to the barrier and then steals his watch after the government thugs kill him, the guy mentions that Goyo gave him the pamphlets.
