That one shot was truly disturbing (spoilers)

When Maja looks through the window at the playground and sees the couple dispatching their younger selves. Genuinely chilling.

...then whoa, differences...

Actually the where Maja 2 lets go of her kid is more disturbing - scenes which can happen in the real life are more disturbing

Darkness lies an inch ahead

Well I did mean from a horror perspective; the unexpected suddenness of the shot and the cold brutality of the couple.

That part was sad, but I'd guessed it was coming (from one of the moms) and it was your standard 'I'll never see you again' goodbye.

I agree with you, but I do think the shot needed to be longer to achieve maximum impact. As it stands It's so brief (certainly not much more than a second), it's a little difficult to actually work out what's going on, unless you replay it a couple of times.🐭

It's been a while, but as I recall the abruptness and short duration of the shot was what really gave it it's kick. I can't remember if we were even supposed to know quite what was happening at that stage were we?

Well we see the scene through Maja's eyes and she's has to understand what's going on, so therefore we need to. I just found that I had to rewind the scene a couple of times to fully comprehend what was happening. It does come out of nowhere in broad daylight, so it is unexpected and does have impact.🐭
