the funny thing


What I thought was funny was that, if you looked beyond the blatant fear-mongering, it was a pretty good indictment of the system of military welfare built up after WW2 - we are not helping the world's people deal with their political problems for better or worse but at least finally, we are merely keeping them from ever being resolved, creating an endless supply of desperate factions willing to buy arms from the top suppliers. We have finally succeeded in divorcing war from politics and focusing all its energy on capitalism. If only there weren't so many pesky competitors, though...
