I just looked up the female cast and the top three are in their early 20s, yet they are supposed to be high school age cheer chicks?
It is a touch and go subject, but is anyone bothered that they couldn't find actual teenage chicks stars?
Age doesn't matter, it's if you look the part.
Also they shy away from hiring under 18 year olds as actors under 18 have schooling and can only work so many hours.

According to this site, the girl who played Cammie Poole is born in 1990, so she was a teen during filming this movie.
