Stupid Edits?

I noticed a couple of times in this movie, when they would be building up for a big "action scene", they would cut to come something totally random, like a 30 second time-lapse shot of mushrooms growing. It happened two or three times. Build up, Tim Allen get excited, what's going to happen.... time-lapse shot. WTF?

I knew being G rated , we would not see the kill of the colobus monkey. Of course, no mating. At least , I see many of the stunning nature programs that approach R ratings on Discovery, Animal Planet or National Geographic channel.
