Garbage for dummies

I came across this "documentary" the other day and I managed to watch only 3 episodes, then I had to turn it off. It's completely worthless. It contains very little actual history and facts, it doesn't tell anything about the society or culture of Romans, it completely brushes over the politics of Rome and it focuses heavily only on the battles (otherwise it would be boooring for the dummies with 2 minute attention span I guess). That would not be a problem in itself but the battles are also pretty much brushed over. They never go into any sort of detail and the battles are portrayed completely unrealistically. Instead of more in-depth analysis of the battles and the armies or anything actually informational in a battle oriented documentary we have constant battle scenes where 20 guys in silly costumes (barbarians covered in mud sort of thing) are hacking each other in 1v1 duels. Most of this documentary is actually useless filler to stretch the running time. And to add insult to injury 1/3 of the running time are repeats due to the numerous commercial breaks. Classic history channel garbage.
